Ray Carlton Born August 4, 1950 in Pinellas County, passed away April 12, 2007 on Anna Maria Island, Florida. For nearly 30 years Ray kept his finger on the pulse of popular music working his way up to Vice-President of BMG and RCA Records. He began his career as a road manager, then later record promoter and producer. Over the years he worked with such groups as Ted Nugent, Iron Butterfly and Motley Crue and helped promote Brittany Spears. He also produced the TV soundtrack to 90210. Ray retired from the music industry in 2002.

Ray graduated from Apalachian State University in 1973 in Boone, NC. He returned to Boone at the time of his retirement. In 2006 he and his wife Sharon organized the High Country Cotillion, a social education program to prepare students for life skills. He was married for 31 years to Sharon Anderson Carlton and was the father of his son Sam Carlton of Watauga County.

I used to visit Raymond at his parent's hotel on about 17th avenue and 4th street (at least that is my memory).  I wanted to visit him at this reunion.
