Arlene Panepinto (Mitchell) Passed away from cancer in 2015. After high school Arlene graduated from Wittenberg University in Ohio in 1972. The same year she married David Mitchell a graduate of Northeast High School in St. Pete. Here's David hard at work in the yard in Colorado. They lived on six acres in the mountains and had a creek running through their property.

Arlene then spent the next 25 years teaching, two years in St. Pete, two in Texas then the next 21 years in Greeley, Colorado. She also went back to school and graduated with a Masters in Mathematics from Northern Colorado University in 1996.

In 1997 Arlene left teaching and worked at a research lab under the Department of Education. Arlene continued that same work in Denver in 2003. Arlene's main focus was to work with classroom teachers at all levels, school administrators, and state education agency to improve teaching and learning in mathematics with the implementation of state standards and state assessments.

In her free time, Arlene and David had four German Sheperds, three of which were rescue. Their mountain home was the perfect place for their four dogs. Arlene also loved to sew and to work on quilts.

I visited Arlene about 2 months before she died.  She was a warm and loving woman and continued to have a wonderful spirit even as she struggled with her illness.  Still miss our weekly conversations.  RIP broken heart
