Dave was born in Vallejo California. He attended SPHS from the fall of 1966 to graduation in 1968. He was an avid SCUBA diver and explored many Florida springs as well as making regular dives in the Gulf and in the Keys. He encouraged several of his friends to take up the sport. He also loved remote hiking and needed no coaxing to head off trail to ascend an interesting peak in the Sierra Nevada or Grand Tetons. When St. Pete. traffic got too tame for him he drove in demolition derbies at Sunshine Speedway. Whether engaging in challenging sports or just hanging around, Dave was good company and a loyal friend. He enlisted in the Army and became a skilled helicopter pilot surviving many missions in Vietnam. We lost touch after that but I have no doubt that he was as dedicated to his family as he was to his friends and fellow soldiers.
